Enhanced School Safety and Security Program
School safety and security is a top priority for all of us in the Archdiocese of Boston. We know that one of the primary reasons families send their children to our schools is because of their stellar record of academic excellence, Catholic faith formation, and safety and security.
The Catholic Schools Office, the Office of Risk Management and the Office of General Counsel are committed to helping our schools continue to provide safe and secure learning environments. It is for this reason that we have introduced a new Enhanced Safety and Security Program for Catholic school educators.
The program has three primary components:
1. Comprehensive and informative seminars to provide information on the types of aggression, including bullying
2. Tools and techniques for the early identification of potentially aggressive situations and high-risk students
3. A planning and response template that can be tailored by each school for their specific needs and circumstances
We offered three Enhanced Safety and Security seminars this winter. We will be following up with workshops and teacher training programs this summer and fall. We will email principals and administrators more details when the dates and times are confirmed.
RCAB Bullying Prevention Policy
In accordance with recent Massachusetts legislation (M.G.L. c.71 § 370), the Office of General Counsel issued an archdiocesan-wide Bullying Prevention Policy in 2010. Please download the policy here:
